You will soon transform your home into an autumnal retreat and start the season feeling refreshed and energised.

So, how can you make your home warm and inviting for autumn?

We have put together some top tips to help you create a cozy autumn home this season.

Organise your wardrobe

Even though temperatures are still mild, it's clear that the days are getting shorter, it’s time to pack away those summer clothes and get your home ready for the colder months.

The change of seasons is an ideal moment to organise your wardrobe and transition from summer to autumn wardrobes. Begin by removing all summer dresses, shorts, and crop tops. Sort these items and store them in a clean, dry place. Spray the clothes with MadeKind 'Focus' Spray which includes Rosemary, Peppermint and Lavender which deter moths. Use this opportunity to donate or sell any clothing you no longer wear.

Next, bring out your autumn wardrobe, including jumpers, coats and jackets. While doing so, inspect each garment for any flaws and clean them as necessary. Also, take time to organise your shoes and accessories to match the season.

Declutter Your Bathroom

The bathroom often becomes a storage spot for everything from cosmetics to medications, making autumn the ideal time to declutter and refresh the space. Start by discarding expired or unused products, checking the shelf life of both cosmetics and medications.

Next, thoroughly clean shelves with Multi Surface Cleaner, cabinets, and drawers to remove any dust or grime. Arrange the remaining items neatly, keeping them easily accessible. Use baskets and boxes to organise smaller items, helping to create more space and a tidier, more comfortable environment.

Clean out your kitchen cupboards and fridge

Now is the perfect time to go through your cupboards, fridge, and freezer and clear out anything that’s expired. Organize your drawers and cabinets while taking stock of what food you have on hand. Discard anything past its expiration date, and you’ll be left with only items you can use moving forward. This will help you quickly find what you need and reduce food waste in the process.

Clean all windows

At the start of autumn, it’s essential to ensure your rooms stay bright and inviting. Clean windows allow more natural light into your home, which can lift your mood. Begin by cleaning the window frames, then move on to the glass itself.

Use MadeKind Dish Wash in clean warm water followed by Multi Surafce Spray to clean windowns. Remember to also clean the window sills and shutters, removing any cobwebs and dust. Lastly, check the window seals and replace them if needed to maintain a clear, well-lit space.

Transform your home with seasonal scents

As the nights grow longer, it's time to embrace the warm, comforting scents of autumn. Create an inviting, comforting, warm space by adding cozy aromas through soy candles, room mists, and reed diffusers. For an extra touch, simmer fruits and herbs on the stove to fill your home with the essence of autumn, surrounding yourself with your favourite seasonal scents.
